And then...silence. (Not that a one-month silence is in any way unusual for a film that we surely won't even see until 2011.)
But breaking that silence is word from the Collider blog, which claims that screenwriters Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (2008's Iron Man) are hard at work on an Akira script, and that while it is set in a neo-Manhattan instead of Neo-Tokyo, Akira's motorcycle is still in. This is all attributed to a "trusted source," so it's officially rumor until we hear something official. But hey, it sounds kinda cool. Appropriately enough, Fergus and Ostby are also working on a flick called " Cowboys and Aliens." Okay, I don't know whether that's actually appropriate, but I think it's funny. <3
