So, the 30th anniversary of Gundam celebration continues in Japan, spotlighted primarily by the 18-meter “life-size” Gundam replica in Odaiba.
But on Wednesday, a new Gundam project was announced, and it's not an anime, a manga, a game, a figure, or even a new model. No, the latest Gundam project is... the 2016 Olympics!
Yes, Tokyo is in the running for the 2016 summer Olympics, and not only that, it's the front-runner. And Gundam is getting in on the bidding act with the Green Tokyo Gundam Project, which starts this Saturday as part of the 30th Anniversary festivities.
The new project is actually designed to raise funds to plant new trees and other greens in Tokyo to help transform the trees.
Now how cool is that? Gundams ARE a force for good!

That would make for a good starting husk to work from....
Oh, also, trees are cool. And stuff.
