Leaked: Astro Boy Movie Images!

Summit Entertainment leaks some new animated goodies for us to check out!

Following the success of comics in the United States; Japanese media mogul Osamu Tezuka created the concept of Astro Boy back in 1952. It's success quickly launched the character onto the big screen, and won the hearts of both Japanese and Americans alike.
Today, Astro Boy is still alive and kicking! In fact, Summit Entertainment is currently working on an "Astro Boy" film. The film company leaked some cool images for us to check out, courtesy of Sci Fi Wire. After checking out these images for myself I had to agree that this motion picture is starting to really peak my interest.
The new Astro Boy film will feature the voice talents of Freddie Highmore, Nicolas Cage, Kristen Bell, Nathan Lane, Bill Nighy, Eugene Levy, Matt Lucas and Donald Sutherland; and is written by Timothy Harris and directed by David Bowers.

Seeing this images really got me excited. The animation is smooth and clean, in my opinion looks pretty cool. What do you guys think? Are you looking forward to an Astro Boy film? Have you ever heard of the character or read any of the comics?

The animation looks pretty nice.  I'm not completely satisfied with the 3D angle they are going for, but it does have promise, so I'm still excited to see how the film turns out.

And no, I haven't read any of the comics, though I have heard of, and love, the character of Astro Boy.

Nice to see these a bit higher-res than the trailers that have come out. Looks shiny. Maybe a little too shiny...I just hope the story's as slick as the art.

Can't say I'm super excited about the Astro Boy movie. Though I'll admit it will most likely be a "watch" for me, I just am rather ambivalent to it till that point.

Good to see you Vice side Babs. Break down those walls!

Im thinking this will probably be good.  At least good-ish.

I need to see a trailer though to be more precise.

"Bill Nighy" - wait, is this Bill Nigh the science guy?? Bill Nye is going to be in this!? I'm getting tickets reserved ASAP.

I going to see this for the same reason why I saw Dragonball Evolution at a movie theater.  I going to support animes that come out in the movie theater.  If these movie fail it won't be because of me.

Dig Deeper into Astro Boy

Astro Boy was created by Osamu Tezuka, the "Father of Manga". As the story goes, Astro Boy is a child robot made by Dr. Tenma to replace his dead son. Instead, he becomes the greatest superhero.
