Kenichi Matsuyama to Gamble on Kaiji

Mmm, delicious Kenichi Matsuyama.

I know there are a few Kaiji fans here on the site-- and I know there are even more fans of Kenichi Matsuyama, who played L in the live-action Death Note flicks, Shin in Nana, and Soichi in Detroit Metal City, among many others.

The latest manga-inspired movie role for Matsuyama? Well, Tokyograph says he's rejoining his Death Note co-star, Tatsuya Fujiwara-- who played Light –in the upcoming live-action Kaiji flick. Matsuyama will play Sahara, who joins the titular Kaiji on the jan-ken-pon boat of doom.

Twitch also has a trailer.

What do you guys think? Will it be as good as Death Note, better, or nowhere near as cool? Go!

Better than death note, but live-action just doesn't look pointy enough for Kaiji.

@Sigue: Definitely less stylish, but I think that the movie format could work a LOT better for pacing...
