Kamen Rider Double (W) Gets A Street Date

More  information about the newest Kamen Rider has just come out of the wood work thanks to promotional material posted in Japanese magazines. Kamen Rider W , (pronounced double), will air in September of this new year, which is still in 2009 for those of you taking score at home. This series will feature two main characters, named Shotaro Hidari, and Philip. They both are private detectives who possess special transformation units that turn them into Kamen Riders; they are the Gaia Memory Joker unit, and the Gaia Memory Unit.

With the Double Driver transformation belt, the two heroes combine and become Kamen Rider W. What I want to know is if they are transformed before they combine into Kamen Rider W or if they are human when they do it. Either way, this is the first Kamen Rider show that features two Kamen Riders combining into one. Is it just me, or are you guys expecting some kind of fusion dance as well?

I'm looking forward to Double. I hope it won't be rushed though, trying to fit him into the All Rider vs Daishocker movie and his own series while working on Decade.

I'm not super happy with the design and the concept of fusion is a bit odd, but I'm happy there wont be more Den-O at the end of Decade at the least. It will be interesting to see how this play out and how they will try to build upon the awesomeness of Decade. And it it turns out to be uninteresting I will probably go back and finally watch Hibiki instead.

I'm hoping one of them is really serious and one's really goofy and easygoing. That means that the serious one will be reluctant to fuse and once they are, they'll end up fighting amongst themselves for control of the body. That'll be comedy gold right there.

They could also not go for the "two minds in one body" and just go with the "fused minds" ala DBZ gotenks,vegito etc. It'd be pretty badass having both the actors reading the same lines at the same time.

The design reminds me of a Imagjin from Den-o who also was half Green/Black. There were two of them, one of them was really serious and the other was more crazy, jumping around.

The color theme is really reminiscent of the Joker Undead from Kamen Rider Blade (also black and green), but Double will have different modes with different colors.

While the belt is a bit big, I still like the suit. Also, scarf is back!

Just uploaded the actual photo`s and Sungel`s photoshopped ones are next whoohoo for the scarfs :)

I for one like this concept (mainly because W looks like a combo between Metalder. Kamen Rider Black and Barom One) so i am looking forward to the premiere but i still can`t believe on of the two is called Phillip XD. 

Edit : Kamen Rider W is the second Kamen Rider to have a car (Black RX tribute anyone? lol)

While I like the car, bikes hardly get used as it is. I can see them all but phasing them out now.

Edit: Kamen Rider W`s chief writer is Riku Sanjo who wrote both Beet the Vandel Buster`s manga and the Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibōken and also Gaiking ^^
