Jun Planning US Joins CPM in Shutting Down

Figure maker Jun shuts down US operations.

Japanese anime figure maker Jun Planning is apparently shutting down their US operations, according to Robert's Anime Corner Blog, and so far they haven't yet announced what this will mean for upcoming planned figures-- including a Revy figure I've long been excited about and a nekomimi!Louise that I could have sworn I posted about but can't find, so I'll share it now.

A series of Death Note figures also don't know their future at the moment, though I don't think they'd had release dates yet, so they probably hadn't already been preordered, unlike Revy and Louise.

Robert notes that it's unclear whether the entire company is completely shutting down or not, but they're definitely pulling out of the US market-- and he's trying to get in touch with the company to determine whether Revy and Louise will be their final releases directly in the US.

If Jun continues to operate in the US, these figures can still be imported, I'm sure...but we'll see.

It's sad that this is happening especially when that Louise figure looks so moe.

Dig Deeper into Figures

A popular merchandise type in Japan is the "figure", which can be an action figure or a still figure, generally of an anime or manga character (although there are any number of original designs as well).
