In four days, wish-granting Legendary Pokemon Jirachi will be offered by Nintendo as a special download at Gamestop.

An older and less feral pocket monster than the recently-revealed Zorua & Zoroark, Jirachi cannot be obtained through normal gameplay. No, ma'am! Additionally, the star-shaped cutie puff will unlock a special route in the Pokewalker that comes with the new HeartGold and SoulSilver games. Yes, sir! Like the other special routes, this will allow players to venture outside the games themselves and catch rare and special Pokemon throughout the digital wilderness. Read more about that feature, and the games' total overhaul for the DS here.
The offer ends March 13, so get up and get moving on Friday if you really, truly want to catch them all this time. All you need to do is carry along your copy of Pokemom Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, stop by your nearest American Gamestop and download Jirachi straight into your DS. That's all you must do to make this wish come true!

Actually I always felt sort of bad about that.
Ah well, I guess I'll take a little trip to america on the 26th then, gotta go book plane tickets.
First the Pikachu coloured Pichu being U.S.A. exclusive and now Jirachi. Oh and Arceus before in U.S. Toys R Us. -_-' Hopefully they will put it up on the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection later. Although reading the annoucment of it on the pokemon.com website makes it sound like it is. Particularly the "*Content Distribution may be made available over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection." Still exclusivity deals (even if they are probably just a timed exclusive) are dumb as hell. I get that Nintendo does it because they like money and Gamestop does it because they hope people will buy stuff, while they are there or some consumer loyalty bs but it's still just an annoying pain. I wonder how long until it does show up on the Wi-Fi Connection. If it was like with Darkrai and Shaymin I'm guessing somewhere close to a year from now.
