I really enjoy translating comments on 2ch and comparing them to responses about the same news. You guys really took an interest in the “Real Yoko” figure, so when I saw the 2ch thread, how could I resist?

The vast majority of the comments shared the exact same complaints that many of you had-- that she looks too old or just sort of odd --although it seems like there were fewer people who liked her, at least among the comments I translated and selected from (about the first 20).

• “She's not babyfaced.”
• “Who is this?”
• “This guy didn't factor in Yoko's age LOL”
• “She looks like a tranny LOL. There are too many figures with bad faces these days.”
• “Wasn't this Yoko [i.e. the Yoko from this time period in the series] supposed to be 14 or 16? She's too old...”
• “Nice, but it doesn't look right.”
• “As a depiction it's uninteresting, but if it were an original character it'd be good.”
• “Reality and that hair and those clothes just don't mix well.”
• “Huh? This Yoko is good, am I in the minority here? Isn't she beautiful?”
• “They should have used 21-year-old Yoko's outfit.”
