Japan Reacts: FUNimation and Gonzo

A smattering of responses from Japanese fans on 2ch to FUNimation's streaming of Blassreiter and Druaga.

Remember that press release a little while ago about FUNimation running Tower of Druaga and Blassreiter on their website? Well, its found itself on Japanese sites-- including 2ch. Ever wonder what Japan thinks of American licensors and the like?

As you might imagine, it's not a topic that is inspiring massive response, but here's what they ARE saying:

It sucks to be the domestic market.” (In other words, they pay more.)

Don't they only get samurai and ninja stuff?”

I wonder if it's true that downloads cut into 80% of illegal downloads for Naruto”

It's tightrope-walking...”

I'm not quite sure where they're getting that number about Naruto downloads dropping-- and honestly, I doubt it's dropped THAT much –but interesting thoughts nonetheless.

See.  Japan knows how cheap anime is here.

I'd feel bad, if they weren't getting all the stuff on TV generally anyway. I mean, I know they have to pay the NHK licensing fee and all that, but it's still easier access than we get if there's no online distro.

Well, except for the whole staying-up-until-2am thing. I'm no good at that, personally.

For the record it is true i`ve noticed that the downloads are slowing down some people who usually spread the stuff around (wont call names) have stopped all the sudden and on the sites i mostly use like Veoh there are only Spanish subs meaning nobody has even bothered to upload the English subs but that doesn't stop me lol i still watch it every week since we dont get Naruto in Holland lol

Legal downloads cutting 80% into illegal downloads? I have some trouble buying into that.
