ElementHunter
A new educational anime project has just been announced for July of this year: ElementHunter, a sci-fi adventure created by .hack//SIGN's Kazunori Ito and directors Yoshiaki Okumura (Antique Bakery) and Han Pyo Hong with the goal of teaching kids about the elements. Here's the rest of the staff list so far:

  • Series Composition: Toshihisa Arai (?)
  • Character Design: Daigo Okumura (Tales Of series, including Vesperia, Abyss, and Symphonia)
  • Sci-Fi Creation: Ryuichi Kaneko (Gene Diver animation director; RahXephon design research; general sci-fi writer)
  • Design Collaboration: Apuo Reino

Aaaand a website is already up, too. Looks a bit cooler than your average edu-tainment to me.

"Muhuhahaha! My only weakness is a solid metal element that contains an average of 114.82 atomic mass units in each atom! You'll never figure it out in time to stop me!"

"Wow, good thing our teacher told us about Indium in class today."

"Noooo! He wields the Magical Periodic Table of Power! I can't possibly win now!"
