According to IMDb, the project is currently being scripted, but no scriptwriter has been named. (Original writer Keiko Nobumoto is among the Sunrise staff who'll work on it, as an associate producer...hopefully that means good things for the script.)
So, should we be concerned for a major mucking-up like many expect out of Dragon Ball Evolution? Hard to say. Here's what Stoff offers:

Okay, okay, guys, it's time we all speculate on the most important information after who's-playing-Spike and who's-writing-it: who is playing Faye Valentine? Who do you WANT to play Faye? And everyone else?

Well... I guess its like others have said.... were just going to have to wait and see... maybe... it wont look as bad as Dragonball movie does right now...
I'm just afraid they'll take out one of the major characters like they did with Krillinin the Dragonball movie. What if there is no Ed, Faye or Jet!?
And I agree... Ein better not be some stupid little CG dog -_-' IF they even put him in. v.v
O_o and they better not make Ed a boy... I dont know why... but I have a feeling they might...
