Hollywood Meets the Soul Society: Bleach Movie!

"Nutty Professor II" director to produce. No, seriously.

Oh, Warner Brothers, you're at it again! The studio, already developing Akira and, last we heard, a Death Note flick as well, has now revealed that they're going to try putting together a live-action Bleach film.

They've already got a producer tentatively on board: Peter Segal, director of such cinematic masterpieces as Nutty Professor II: The Klumps and 50 First Dates. (Thankfully, if he's brought on, Segal will only produce-- not direct. Apparently he's "seeking to expand his portfolio" by "taking on darker, more action-oriented material." Oof.)

Hm. Well. Bleach, huh? I don't think I have any particular casting memes to latch onto there, unlike Zac Efron for Kira. As long as it's not Carrot Top, I suppose...

Haha, I wonder how this'll turn out.
Rokujoon March 22, 2010 at 5:45 a.m.
It will be set in an American high school. Ichigo will become Josh Kurosaki. Rukia will become Britney Kuchiki.

It will be a teen romance with lots of hair gel, and probably jocks.

Welcome to Hollywood.

Carrot top could make a pretty mean looking villain now that he is all buff. He wouldn't need any makeup ether, the guy looks freaky already.
Lydian_Selon March 22, 2010 at 5:56 a.m.
Drew Barrymore is Ichigo Kurosaki, Adam Sandler voices Kon which means Rob Schneider will show up somewhere, & Eddy Murphy plays every other character!

You know what? I'd totally watch that film.

Let's not forget that Ichigo will be bullied in school and just wants to be normal.

I predict another Hollywood disaster. And I guess there will be a lot of Disney actor factory names, or Twilight (ack!) cast members.  I bet Lindsay Lohan will play Rangiku.  I'm so not watching this film if it happens.

Meh, they should've just made an americanized version of the Bleach musical and put it on broadway. That, I would go see.

@transgojobot: Ha!

@RockmanBionics: Dude, totally. Sold. Done. Score. Let's bring the teens back to Broadway! It'll be like Rent meets...uh. Bleach. With less AIDS and more being dead.

Sheer faggotry.

agreed. Dragonball evolution failed largely because it was an American adaption. Come on. That would be the equivalent of Japan making an X-men movie with a Japanese cast. Actually that's still not as bad. How are they going to explain all the spells, zanpakutou, names, and location if it's American? My thoughts, this will be worse than Dragonball Evolution.

Nah, Mr. T is totally Zommari Leroux =p.
Anyway, like I said on ComicVine just a few minutes ago I will see this movie even if I suspect there'll be tons of adaptation decay >.>
