Haruhi-chan Talks Upcoming Web Shorts; Still No Second Season Info

Haruhi-chan!

I probably shouldn't have put that in the title, now none of you will read this, right? Well, there it is, guys: still no info on the second season. Insert general rants and ravings here! (Or better yet, do it in the comments.)

Meanwhile, keen-eyed reader Yue spotted new informaion on the upcoming Internet OVA shorts featuring The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya SD characters Haruhi-chan and Churuya-san, currently on the official Haruhi website:

Main Cast:

Whew! No surprises there-- the entire cast is back.

Main Staff:

Original Creators – Nagaru Tanigawa and Noizi Itou
Manga Creators (of Haruhi-chan and Nyoro~n Tsuruya-san) – Puyo and Eretto, respectively
Director – Yasuhiro Takemoto (Full Metal Panic!)
Character Design – Futoshi Nishiya
Color Design – Naomi Ishida (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)
Art Director – Mutsuo Shinohara (Clannad)
Director of Photography – Ryuuta Nakagami (Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid)

Nothing too startling there, either, although it's interesting that Haruhi's original director Tatsuya Ishihara doesn't appear to be working on the project. (We already knew that though; we had a couple of these staff members announced back in May.)

I've given up on waiting for the second season of Haruhi, so I went on baka-tsuki and read the light novel online which is more or less what this next season is going to be based on. The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. Thanks for the news though! Much appreciated. ^-^

While my OMG-IT'S-HARUHI-MUST-WATCH/READ instincts will take over and lure me in, I'm not too happy that the effort for this OVA isn't being put into something a little more awesome like a second season.

Now if they did a gender-bending OVA, then that's when I start marking calenders and setting alarms.

is the same crew who is making the second season making the ova as well? i dont understand really. but i dont mind waiting for the second season.
