Happy Birthday Akira Toriyama! Love Anime Vice

Join me as we celebrate the legend himself.

Happy Birthday Akira Toriyama! Today you are 55 years young, halfway through your life (unless we get the dragon balls involved), with lots of time still left to create more masterpieces if you so chose. Though even if you stopped drawing, we would still love you for what you have created. Dragon Ball, Dr. Slump, Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, these are just some of the things you have worked on that had lasting effects all those who witnessed them. If it wasn’t for Dragon Ball, I probably would not be the man I am today, so I thank you.

Recently you have not been producing as much art as you had in your past, since Dragon Ball seemed to have drained you from all of your creative energy. But that is ok, for you have not fully given up the pen and paper yet. Perhaps after Dragon Ball Online launches, you will have more creative energy to return to the manga world to create another amazing series. Till then enjoy your birthday and a nice cup of sake, you deserve it.

Love,
The Vice.
