Halo Legends: "The Package" Part 2 Availible Online Today

Hope you already saw part one!

Welcome to part 2 of "The Package." The premise of the package is that a group of Spartans (Including Master Chief) are taking part in a raid on a Covenant fleet. Part 1 was interesting, I guess. Not much happened. but it featured the first story to include the infamous "Master Chief."

This seems both good and bad. Master Chief does live beyond this, so the probability of failure is low, and thus emotional investment is lowered..

The all CGI short was animated by Casio Entertainment, with Shinji Aramaki acting as Creative Director. Shinji Aramaki has been involved with countless design assignments from s-CRY-ed, to Bubblegum Crisis

By now you know the deal. The episode is available freely at Halo Waypoint, but only today. Check it out, or wait for the DVD/Blu-ray to come out this February.

Well actually it's part one and two together.
 It's a visual treat, but as the sole episode Aramaki was in charge of, it shows, in the dialogue.
Hoping the japanese voice acting is better too.

But god does it look fantastic. Awesome to see Fred being a badass too.

It's funny though the whole episode just feels kind of fanficish taking place sometime before Halo 2.* Although it's probably way before that seeing as
Dr. Hasley looks fairly young and having read First Strike (that and the prequel to Halo 1 but other than that I haven't a clue) which occurs between Halo 1 and 2 she's depicted as much older in the book having grey hair.

Also John you forgot to mention Fred and Kelly would have to still be alive as well to keep continuity. The other two guys though not so much.

So did anyone else cringe when they heard some other guy doing the Master Chief's voice? It's not just it was different it was way different from Steve Downes.

 *The Sangheili [Elites] still hold command over the Jiralhanae [Brutes] although the HUD doesn't fit the type of armor he would have had at the time assuming HUD's are different between different MJOLNIR but that's probably just due to not having any real lore based reason for the HUD changes or that maybe it's adaptable seeing as the version of armor the Master Chief used between Halo 2 and 3 was the same yet the HUD changed. I'm sure someone that's way into the Halo lore though will probably inform me of how wrong I am though.

@Zeouterlimits:

Ya it's weird they say on their webiste it's part 2 but it looks like they decided to show all 13 minutes or so as a whole anyway.

Just watched it and thought the CGI looked really sharp, but when they used the actual in game hud from Halo 3 I thought that was pretty weird.

 Wow, visually The Package looks fantastic! Storywise though I'd say it's my least favourite of the other two I've seen. Still good though, even though I'm not a Halo fan I'm probably going to look for the dvd.
