Remember "The Babysitter?" It was the first episode of Halo Legends to be previewed, and now its gone. Preview number two, "The Duel," is upon us, and we're ready for it this time, right?

As last time kinda-sorta-should'a-been, the video will be for one day only on Halo Waypoint, so make sure to mosey over there sometime tomorrow. But hey, its already tomorrow if you live in Europe!!! You guys better revel in the fact that you finally got something that we don't have... for another four hours.

Pertinent Information:

The Duel:
"The Duel" takes us back in time thousands of years to the dawn of the Covenant, where a shamed Elite defies his Arbiter fate and embarks on a mission of revenge against those that have wrong him.

This short was Production I.G.'s, and Zeouterlimits says its good. I wouldn't know... since Europe always gets things first.

Despite not liking the Halo games I quite Enjoyed The Babysitter. Here's hoping that the others are as consistent.

I for one seriously enjoyed 'The Duel'.
Really beautiful mix of water colours and CG (although the animation was vaguely awkward at times). Getting to see a big part of Elite/Arbiter history (and female Elites!) was really cool too.
Can't wait to get ze Blu-Ray.

I love the visual style in The Duel the whole watercolour with a slight defocused lense vibe to it mixed with a very desaturated colour pallete looked amazing. The story was fairly predictable because it felt ripped out of a typical samurai revenge/I must hold on to my ideals no matter the cost kind of story.
(in this case an Arbiter) realizes his superiors (who are from some foriegn village/town/city or in this case group of planets) don't follow his ideals and he rebels against them slaughtering those in his wake and once he looses everything he cares about has one last epic but quick battle against an equally worthy opponent with both of them killing each other at the same time in the end.
Although that's really my only gripe and it's not that big of a deal because the animation was so gorgeous and unique with great voice acting that it didn't really bother me that much.

Eh, I guess I'll give Legends a try.
