Gurren Lagann: Parallel Works, was a series of animated music videos, pairing brand new animation with the existing soundtrack from the series. Of course, to sweeten the deal, there is an underlying theme of parallel universes... which I love.
The first set involved such videos as one set in a very traditional looking fantasy setting, while another took place in a world where the Gunmen transform into giant pinball machines. These themes will carry over the recently announced Parallel Works 2: Project Encore, and I couldn't be more excited. These fun endeavors really help illustrate Gainax's devotion to their IPs, and have found a way to make quality merchandise that doesn't compromise the integrity of its source material.
Expect Parallel Works 2 to land May 26.

My favorite still has to be the first one though~...I really wouldn't mind seeing the Gurren Lagann characters in that kind of setting.

I like the spin offs...the Shinji Ikari Raising Project more than Angelic Days.
Angelic Days didn't bother me too much. Though I do have to admit that the most brilliant off shoot I ever read on Evangelion was a doujinshi. It was like, forever long, and really very interesting.
