Get Your Own Evangelion Plugsuit For Half A Million Yen

You have to be really serious about cosplay to go for this

I like cosplay. A lot. I like to watch people dressed up at cons, I like to photograph it, and I like to don a costume myself of occasion. Although, it hard to fit anything over this robot armor ... sigh.

That being said, there comes a point where you just have too much damn money. And if you do, you may end up buying one of these crazy Eva plugsuits. Sure, there are plenty of plugsuits to be had from various different retailers. But, if you want to get super serious, you can order yours custom made from Cospatio. Which will set you back approximately 550,350 yen -- $6,334 US. Wow.

So obviously, you probably don't have 6 grand to blow on an Eva plugsuit. But if you did , would you?

They don't look like their worth 6k+ , you could probably get a similar looking suit for much less $. I don't think i would buy one even if i had the money.

It really depends. I mean, in the show, the plugsuit shrinks to fit you when you push a button on the wrist. If it actually did that, and you could design the colours, it's worth considering if you had the money, not just for cosplay but because you could probably use it as a decent diving suit

Wow, that seems kind of pricey, but I guess since it is custom fitted that accounts for the hefty price.  There used to be a group online making custom Halo armor that sold for $3500 back in 2004, but now I see full suits for sale online at around $700-$800.

If anyone has too much money, they should be building their own EVA unit, not just the plug suit...oh, and feeding the hungry, too.

Wow...that seems like a cool idea, but for over $6,000 dollars? That price would make most Evangelion fans lose interest in buying the Plugsuits. I know of several people at my college that would die at the chance to lay their hands on cool Evangelion outfits or products, but I do not think that they would be willing to shell out that much.

It is still pretty cool, though n_n

Is this plug suit actually guaranteed to increase synchro rates?

Only worth it if you can press a button and it suctions to your body.

This was our WTF of the week over on the banzaibeat....I mean really I can think of twenty things easily that I would rather due with this amount of money..some people just have to much money...

Well, as the old saying goes, a thing's true value is worth just as much as you can get some other poor sucker to pay for it. That's why they call it a "collectibles" market, right?

For 6 grand I'd rather make my own. I've never stitched together large pieces of material but I'd sure as hell learn before dropping that much money.

I guess some people really like Evangelion.
Bigheart711on Aug. 2, 2010 at 12:34 p.m.

It would be awesome to have one of these, but obviously, I wouldn't buy it unless i'm super-rich.
sickVisionz moderator on Aug. 2, 2010 at 5:51 p.m.
I was looking at these pics and thinking that they should have made it out of spandex or some material that wouldn't have creases and loose parts.  Plug suits are super form fitting and skin tight and I don't think they're all that shiny in the anime so vinyl wasn't necessary imo.
Gozertcon Aug. 2, 2010 at 7:54 p.m.
Hmm.. I could probably outfit a platoon of Jaffa or Stormtroopers from scratch for that much.  So no.  Wouldn't pay.  :p

THat being said you know what's really scary?  What happens when a big fat guy plops down the money for it?  I am such a guy and I don't wear outfits like this BECAUSE of it, but I know guys who would just to freak people out.
