Get Comfy and WATCH the Phoenix Wright: The Musical

squee-eeeeeeeee

Look, I'll just lay it out there... I LOVE musicals. Like, if I could marry them, I would. So, imagine the glee I get when some unholy abortion combines my love of theatre, my love of video games, and my love of not understanding a single word of Japanese. That baby's name is Phoenix Wright: The Musical. While this is old news to most of you, what makes today special is that we've got several subtitled videos from the show, so you too can giggle as the all girls Cosmos Troope recreates the exploits of the aspiring ace attorney.

So sit back and enjoy!

PS: Is it awkward to find Ranju Tomu cute. I mean, she's playing a dude, but I still find her adorable, deep, presentational voice and all.
PPS: For some reason I want the states to get wise to video game theatre. Would any of you go see Duke Nukem or Metal Gear: The Musical?

I think this dude actually did the crime.

what have they done to Phoenix???

Not sure I could watch a musical version of this. That's just a bit too odd.

I adore the game series. I really enjoy solving a good murder mystery. I wish they would make a game along these lines for the Detective Conan series. That or something more akin to Professor Layton.

Speaking of which. Do you all play a review of that game since it is Japanese based originally?
John_Martoneon Aug. 28, 2009 at 12:16 p.m.
@FoxxFireArt: Do you want one? I mean, to be honest I hadn't thought of it... but I'm playing the game as we speak.

And yes, we do willfully review games that are decidedly umm... of interest to our community (ala, Class of Heroes, Dokapon Kingdom, BlazBlue)
Oh man, I wish I was writing for the site when Disgaea 3 came out.

There' are a lot of game that of the have anime elements i don't see mbeing mentioned here, like the Altier Iris and Mana Khamia games,

as to fox, i review all games, though I've only played Trials and Tribulations. I really liked Gobot, he knows his coffee

@ThePsychoGamer: as time and ability allows obviously. First and foremost our responsibly lies elsewhere. Also, since we're not a medium that gets review copies, it has to be a game we are already willing to buy.

if Phoenix wasn't so... draggy, I'd watch it, but I can't get past Phoenix's actress.

Also, what happened to Phoenix's spiky hair!?
ThePsychoGameron Aug. 28, 2009 at 8:30 p.m.
@FoxxFireArt:  if your interested you can always commission me to wright a review, my rates are vary competitive, first reviews free, and then every review after that is free, but if you want me to include online for Xbox 360 titles you will have to pay for the gold membership.

hmmmm

I'm wondering, Phoenix and the cast all have different names in the Japanese versions of the games yes? But in this musical they all go by their english names, why is that?

While on the subject, I'm currently playing through PW3. Ok maybe not "currently" since I haven't played it for a few weeks now.

@RockmanBionics: "Phoenix Wright" is more fun to rhyme than "Ryuuichi Naruhodo"?
