So I got in touch with Gary Steinman, former Editor in Chief of Newtype USA, EiC for the Future Anime one-shot, and also EiC for PC Gamer, one of Future US's primary magazines. Steinman confirmed that the issue was out and said it was produced because the original one-shot sold so well. He also told me that if this new issue sells well, it's possible that the magazine could move into some kind of regular publication.
The new issue is much like the first, full of features and pull-out posters. You can pick it up anywhere that Future US usually sells their magazines, like Borders, Barnes & Noble, Wal-Mart, and local newsstads (which is where Kuro found his copy).
And if you want the magazine to become a regular periodical? Steinman says the best way to make it happen is just to buy it. “We produced a second Future Anime because the first one sold so well for us. We’re very proud of this second issue, so if we continue to see strong support, we’ll definitely consider producing more!”
What do you think? After the oh-so-recent demise of Anime Insider, are we ready for a new magazine to try and fill the void? I'll be getting my own copy of Future Anime this week, so I'll give you my thoughts later on as well.

...You know, the more I think about this metaphor, the more I like it...
