FUNi's Fairy Tail on HULU & Full Voice Cast

FUNimation brings more episodes online and makes full cast announcements.

Episodes 1-18 available online
Episodes 1-18 available online

It was just this summer that FUNimation Entertainment announced their acquisition of the licenses for the Fairy Tail anime series, and they plan to release the DVD/Blu-ray box set in November 22, 2011. They even posted the first two episodes subtitled off their own official website as a sampler. When the series first began it's legal streaming on Crunchyroll. It was only available for their paid subscribers, and would remain on the site for 30 days. Not incredibly convenient for those who are coming late to the game. If you ever wanted to give the series a shot but wanted to start at the beginning. Now is your chance. When you go to either the FUNimation Fairy Tail site, FUNi's YouTube, or HULU. The first 18 episodes are available to watch (currently, 16 on Youtube). Can't accuse them of not giving you options. This is great news if you're anything like me. Someone who wanted to watch this series but didn't want to use pirated versions.

The information doesn't stop there. On August 11th, FUNimation revealed the entire cast listing for the first twelve episodes of Fairy Tail on their news site. Their previous cast announcements were only for Natsu, Happy, Erza, Lucy, Gray, Makarov, Mirajane, and Elfman. Now, we have a list of forty names to add into the wiki database. If you'd like to meet some of the cast. Todd Haberkorn, Colleen Clinkenbeard, Cherami Leigh, and Newton Pittman will be at New York Anime Festival and New York Comic Con on October 13-16. There will be panels, autograph signings, and screenings of the English version of Fairy Tail Ep. 1-2 with the premiere of episode 3.

I would love to see the English dub of Fairy tail. It is a great show

I don't remember the voice actors for the cast already announced. Surely FUNi wouldn't do a show without Chris Sabat!

I believe Chris Sabat is voicing Elfman.

Nice change of pace to see some brand new people getting cast.
Also nice to see some of my favorites involved as well. :)

I would actually like to see a dubbed episode of Fairy Tail. FUNi did wonders for Yu Yu Hakusho and One Piece.

Sabat was already added to the series. I just didn't see the point in repeating what I last reported. Not since it was on the site.

I know, I've never heard of some of these actors. That's a good thing. I made sure everyone has profiles made. Though, I noticed some characters are missing from the site. Someone needs to get one those.

Oh cool, can't wait to see this, been a big fan for a while so I'm excited to hear how it sounds.

Cool! I try to help out.

Edit: Thank you for the table, FoxxFireArt.

I added Daisuke Kageura for Wakaba and Droy. For some reason, the page won't let me add his alias name, Daisuke Sasaki.

@Marshal Victory:

You are going to love the ladies' voices especially Mirajane's dub voice. It sounds deep and sexy.

immblueversionon Aug. 30, 2011 at 4:46 p.m.
@takashichea: I seriously doubt you refer to the Funimation dub, because that's not supposed to have been heard before as of today. I'm also more than familiar with the voice of Monica Rial, the Funimation voice actress for Mirajane, and she does not, I repeat, not have a deep voice. Sexy, perhaps, but not deep. It sounds more naturally mid-ranged, and she specializes in doing some high and squeaky voices. I can't say I've heard the Funimation dub of Fairy Tail, but I'd imagine Monica Rial would use something similar to her voice as Tsubaki from Soul Eater for Mirajane.
The only English dub I know that's out now is the Animax Asia dub, and I seriously don't like that one. Few of the voices remotely fit (Natsu's voice is too deep and gravelly, for example), and those that do fit don't even sound like they're performed by professional voice actors. Lucy's voice may sound decent, but there's something forceful and slightly obnoxious about it that doesn't sit right with me. Happy sounds kind of cute, but the person playing him sometimes puts emphasis in bad places of his sentences. And Erza... My god, Erza! Her nose sounds so stuffy and she slurs so many of her sentences and words that she sounds like she has a cold! (People should not voice act when they have a cold; it's bad for the throat.)
Granted, the Animax Asia dub only aired in South Asia and its voice cast is from Hong Kong, but it sounds so unprofessional that it's mistaken by so many people as a fandub. It contains pretty much everything dub haters think is wrong with every English anime dub ever made. Of course, I've heard enough dubs to know that's a load of bull.
This is why I'm really looking forward to the Funimation dub. I know how a number of the confirmed voice actors already sound based on some of the other dubs they've been in, and I'm already certain they can pull of their roles. I believe this because no matter how it turns out for me, I know it will turn out better than that Animax Asia garbage (again, for me), since Funimation voice actors are better than that.

My bad. I thought it was Funimation. It was Animax Asia instead. I agree with you on Erza's voice.
