Oh! Edo Rocket
Oh! Edo Rocket
Let's see if I can cram this in before I have to scoot off to the Georgia Aquarium: FUNimation has acquired the license to Madhouse's Oh! Edo Rocket, a visually striking wacky alternative-Edo-era comedy revolving around a fireworks maker in the time that the Japanese government has banned all luxuries.

The 2007 anime is based on a 2001 play by Kazuki Nakashima, who has also done a lot of script writing for anime-- such as Re:Cutie Honey and Gurren Lagann. He also did the script writing for Oh! Edo Rocket, of course.
