Gad Guard
Gad Guard
Today's FUNimation New Shows A-Go-Go announcement is Gad Guard, a kiddie mech series from 2003 that was originally released by Geneon...and kind of less exciting even than Ikki Tousen. Weird! Well, those 8 hints we got had 8 pretty awesome answers and we have 8 series left to be announced, so maybe they're just trying to make sure that these shows get enough attention before being overshadowed by newer shows?

Well, we can hope, anyway. Meanwhile, for those of you who are super-familiar with the genre, which is a more interesting watch: Gad Guard or the also newly-licensed Raijin-Oh?

Here's FUNi's blurb on the series:

Many people have searched for it, many have stolen it, and many will kill for it. The Gad is a seemingly magical stone which, once making a strong spiritual connection with someone, will grow into a very powerful robot known as a Techode - a mechanical being that embodies the will of the bonded person.

Lol. Just blogged about this here.

Personally though, I'm looking forward to Raijin-Oh just because I already have Gad Guard. I really like it though, so here's hoping some people who never got it finally will now. With the dub already done, FUNi can just release it all in one set.
