FUNimation and Appliya Go iFullmetal

A new iPhone app featuring your favorite alchemist appears.

Many of you (hopefully) remember Appliya and their Evangelion iPhone/Touch applications, which were cool and fun and hey, they were Evangelion-themed! Well, FUNimation has partnered up with Appliya to put together a Fullmetal Alchemist app. It's called Fullmetal Alchemist: State Alchemy Exam, and as you might suspect, it's a quiz app.

With about 130 questions total, you answer them (correctly) to unlock "certificates" and eventually earn the title of State Alchemist, with a variety of FMA wallpapers as rewards. The app will also update with more questions and whatnot, and can apparently be sync'd with your Facebook and/or Twitter accounts, so you can brag about it.

I confess that I don't use my phone for quiz games much, so I'm not sure if I'd be all jumpy to pick this up...on the other hand, it's a buck ninety-nine ($1.99 USD), which isn't a lot to spend. Of course, I don't have an iPhone or iPod Touch, so the question's moot anyway.

But how about you guys? The app is online now-- anyone wanna check this out and give us a review? I'm curious if the questions revolve more around FMA: first version or FMA: Brotherhood.

Just a heads up, the application isn't popping up on iTunes yet after spending 30 minutes looking for it myself to test on my iPhone.

This once again makes me hate the fact that iTunes Store is not available for my country. I'd have loved to have this app and try to crack all the questions.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's not up yet, been checking the App Store on my phone throughout the day and haven't found anything on it.

@HSaabedra:@DJTyrant: Huh, I wonder what happened? Although I suppose I often get PR from Crunchyroll talking about shows going up before they are, too.

Its up now (iTunes link).

I usually don't run PR for iPhone apps until I can verify availability on iTunes, which can take up to 12 hours from the original PR solicitation and it explains what happened yesterday with availability.

Dig Deeper into Fullmetal Alchemist

This takes place in a world where alchemy is possible and performed by people, known as alchemists, manipulating things by willing it. Edward and Alphonse Elric go on a search for the legendary Philosopher's Stone to restore their bodies after an alchemy accident destroyed them.
