Word from anime!anime! is that Nippon Animation, the company behind a wide variety of anime adaptations based on classic literature aimed at kids (among other shows), has posted the first episode of a whopping 27 of its shows on YouTube. The shows are in their original Japanese sans subtitles (this is aimed at Japanese viewers, not us). It is watchable in the US, however (and I'm hoping those of you in other countries will report back on whether you were able to watch too), so why not give it a shot? Especially those of you studying Japanese-- kids' shows are a great way to practice listening skills.
A very partial list of the shows:
- The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
- The Adventures of Maya the Honey Bee
- Angie Girl
- Anne of Green Gables (pictured above)
- Dog of Flanders
- Dokaben
- Ikkyuu-san
- A Little Princess Sara
- Little Women
- Nankoku Shounen Papuwa-kun
- Inocchio Yori Piccolino no Bouken
- Rascal the Raccoon
