Forget Other Saber Lily Figures: I Want This One

Finally, a Saber figure I'd consider spending money on.

We've seen a few really nice figures of Saber Lily, an altered version of Fate/Stay Night 's Saber with a beautiful flowing white and silver costume and a super-keen sword. We've seen the dramatic Good Smile Company version , with her sword held high, and we've seen a softer take by Alter with her sword held more aloft. But now...oh, now. Now she wields her sword...cutely.

Forget those other figures. They're nice, but they're expensive, and they can never be as awesome as the new Nendoroid version , which is only ¥3500 (about $36.33 USD) and is due out this October. As with all Nendoroids, she comes with different accessories and faces: a gentle smile, a determined stare, and a cute little blushy glare are her faces. For accessories, she comes with what looks like two different swords with two different scabbards.

D'awwwwwww.

:P Even in Chibi form, Saber looks menacing...

I'd never spend any money on a chibi figure...

I want one too! A little too pricey...like all figures T_T

@Void_Wizard: Did Saber ever use Caliburn at all in the entire Fate/Zero novel series? Why do they keep posing her with it instead of Excalibur?
Still, I prefer Lily Saber over Black-suit-boring-pose Saber...

I don't think I'll get the nendoroid though.

If only I could punch a hole in space time to the space between the tenth and eleventh dimensions like in TTGL so Gia could stay in there for a while and play/watch F/SN already... (then there'd finally be someone other than Kageryu and Void Wizard who understand why I like Rin...)

@HeeroYuy: I have no idea since I haven't read Fate/Zero yet, though I plan to as long as I can find it translated which I believe it is. My guess is she doesn't use Caliburn much if any in the novels.

I think Saber looks cool in the black suit, though I prefer all other forms of her.

I think if she played the game first it would really be all she needed to understand that. :)

@Void_Wizard: That's interesting, why not? On the chibi-figures thing?
RockmanBionicson June 26, 2009 at 11:24 a.m.
@HeeroYuy:  I UNDERSTAND!! Well, sorta.
My experience with Fate/Stay Night extend to:
  • Having heard of and seen the characters for a long time and starting to recognize them.
  • Starting collecting figurines and as there was currently no characters from series I had seen out at that moment, I got a few Fate/Stay Night ones since I recognized the characters.
  • Saw the anime.
  • Pondered playing the Unlimited Codes PsP game once it's out.

I had an awesomely cute Rin phonestrap on my DS but I lost it somewhere :X

@lanaswift: I don't really think they are worth the money. "Nendoroids" are super deformed and don't look as nice as the to-scale PVC figures. A 4" figure is hardly worth paying $30+ for imo.
HeeroYuyon June 26, 2009 at 1:39 p.m.
@RockmanBionics: The anime is pretty ok, but the game is just epic in every sense of the word. The end of Gurren Lagann is probably the only other thing that gave me comparable shivers up my spine (you know, the kind that makes your hair stand up because something totally epic is happening?) as playing through the Unlimited Blade Works route. Well, that and pretty much every fight scene in Kara no Kyoukai from the third movie on.

@Void_Wizard: I blame the horrible "Superior Defender" Gundam Force for polarizing me when it comes to anything SD nowadays...
RockmanBionicson June 26, 2009 at 2 p.m.
@HeeroYuy:  I've looked around a bit on youtube and became interested in playing it, dont know how to, though.

Gurren Lagann, now that's a series I've wanted to see for a while. Got all the episodes from a friend, but some of them were busted starting with #2 so only saw the first ep.

@RockmanBionics: This page has almost everything you need: http://mirrormoon.org/news/2008/11/fatestay_night_english_v3_2

(it's the complete fan translation patch of the game)
At the bottom of the page they have links to where you can buy the game, and although they included a feature in the newest patch that allows you to add the voices if you have the Realta Nua PS2 version, you'll unfortunately still need the PC version to create an installation first.

@HeeroYuy:  Thanks, I'll check it out.
