Considering that the LAST we heard on the project was that Battle Angel may or may not be Cameron's next flick, that IMDb lists it as "in development" with the latest news on it being from 2005 and the film being scriptless, I'd be surprised if it was actually footage in the sense that the film is actually in active progress at this moment. What it MIGHT be is footage created to be shown to potential distributors and the like, although there's also always that chance that it's just some guy making stuff up online. Who knows?
Either way, it's fun to have hope. And the quote that will be regularly repeated does offer that:
"Imagine this for a second. A cyborg chick "the Angel of Death" taking out "a lot" of other part man, part machine type "people"...Now picture the "Angel of Death" looking like a child. a 14 year old. Now imagine this, this little girl goes through these guys like butter. Did you see the KICK-ASS trailer? Well imagine that girl via the Matrix via Ghost in the shell, via AI. "Remember the True Lies bathroom brawl?" Well take out Arnold, and "copy and paste" Bruce Lee on acid via the Terminator. as seen through the eyes of a sweet innocent 14 year old cyborg girl. And all of this done via the mind of James Cameron, Holy shit what is not to love? The lights flicker and shit hits the fan. Awesome stuff."
Once again-- for a film that doesn't even have a script to have an actress cast seems unlikely, so this test footage (if it exists) is probably promo stuff for Hollywood head honchos and may or may not be new...if it really exists. But it SOUNDS awesome.

To be honest with you, gia, the only way I see Cameron moving ahead with a Battle Angel flick is if his forthcoming "bloated CG extravaganza", Avatar, is a half billion dollar plus worldwide success. If it flops, Alita might find itself shelved for a good long while.
