Those character images in this picture looks like a bad RPG graphic. They are using an animation style from ten years ago. This looks closer to an imitation of what they did in Death Note only not as polished. It looks pretty shotty for a production company that has made Black Lagoon and Highschool of the Dead.
I'm actually more surprised they didn't go with BONES for the studio. They produced Heroman. While I never liked the story and I thought their protagonist looked like a girl. I do think their animation style would work for X-Men.
Wow, airing on G4. I'm sure tens of people will be watching it then. This is the same group that goes to San Diego Comic Con and only promotes the movies and TV series. I would think they were being serious if they would also air it on Anime News Network or Crunchyroll. The places anime fans actually go for anime online. Airing it on G4 tells me they aren't targeting anime fans with this, so then what's the point of hiring an anime studio to produce it?
It all seems fitting that this will air on April 1st.
Wolverine anime was better then Ironman anime but wasn't great so I not expect this to be good as well.
Oh Good! I'm not the only one who thought so!
Hey old animation styles aren't bad. Just not good for this concept. I mean they are trying to be "hip and cool" by "tapping into that whole Anime Thing" right? :p
This last bit pretty much sums it all up. Is it just me or are these attempts to "Mainstream" anime just driving down everything?
NO. NO. NO.
Sorry, but everything about this scream's garbage, especially making cyclops gayer than usual.
Marvel's biggest problem is that they are too busy trying to go "art house" anime rather than just trying to make a good looking anime. They are lacking in an artistic direction. You can see it in the animes they have produced so far. They need to stop trying to make everything look so "pretty".
Look at Black Lagoon and Highschool of the Dead. Both are Madhouse production that look amazing. That's probably because they were following the intended vision of the original manga.
Kinda upset that the art style isn't like any of this stuff come to life though:

Indeed. At least they're not inventing new protagonists.
you do know that was just a screen test and not the real deal?
I'm also wondering which characters they also gonna use the show. I remember that Shingen and Omega Red were in the Wolverine anime.
maybe it looks interesting have to c it befor i can say more
I'm no genius but I reckon it's probably got something to do with Japanese people making it for a Japanese audience...
Armor is an actual X-Man no randomness about it:P
Could've fooled me for a female version of Scott Summers. No joke. Looks like he has tittles. Beast too.
