A while ago I
mentioned that the first seven minutes of
Gundam Unicorn were going to come available on the PSN and on the regular 'net, and I know a couple of you went and checked it out.
But for those of you who were unwilling to put together a Japanese PSN account to make it work, good news: the first seven minutes are going to be available to the rest of the world, and subtitled in multiple languages: English, French, Spanish, traditional Chinese, and simplified Chinese. It goes up TOMORROW-- at least for now, although some sites may scramble to get it online early.
But one way or another, tomorrow you can
click here to watch it. I'll try to issue a reminder tomorrow, and leave a comment if you find a working copy!
“MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM UC (UNICORN)” FREE PREVIEW
Newest Gundam Series "Mobile Suit Gundam UC" First 7 Minutes to Be Shown for Free
Tokyo, Japan, March 2, 2010 - Bandai Channel Co., Ltd. has announced that the newest animation
work “Mobile Suit Gundam UC (Unicorn)”, based on Japan’s wildly successful “Mobile Suit
Gundam” franchise, is now available for streaming video preview on a limited-time basis worldwide
for free (http://extr.b-ch.com/guc/). “Gundam UC” is currently planned to be released March 12, 2010 on
Blu-ray disc worldwide simultaneously in the 7 territorial areas of Japan, US, Canada, UK, France,
Taiwan, and Hong Kong. We would like to invite you to witness for yourself the high video and
audio quality standards for “Gundam UC” in this preview of the animation.
“Gundam UC” is the latest work of the popular “Gundam” series, and uses the “Universal Century”
concept from the first “Mobile Suit Gundam” series as a foundation from which to build a 6 episode
Original Video Animation (OVA) storyline arc. In Japan, “Gundam UC” became available in the
PlayStation® Store on February 20, 2010. From the highly wonderful, positive comments from fans
who have already watched the show at the PlayStation® Store, “Gundam UC” is now greatly
expected to become a smash hit, not only in Japan, but around the world as well. “Gundam”
celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2009, and in commemoration an 18 meter tall Gundam statue
(approx. 59 feet) was erected. We are proud that 4.15 million people visited, and it became the
number one event of the summer.

The PSN videostore is region locked meaning to see content outside of your region you need more than just an account in that region you will need a proxy server from that region as well. The games part of the PSN store is the one where you just need a PSN account in that region if I remember correctly.

Though, since tomorrow in Japan is late today here, you can probably get onto in tonight. I'll get on it after I work on dinner. Assuming the PS3's are done being broken at large.
True I was just replying that getting access to video content outside of your region on PSN is a lengthier process than simplying making up a fake email address in another country to access game related content from other parts of the world since video content requires an IP from that region as well. I think it has to do with how Blu-Ray games are region free but Blu-Ray movies are not. *I actually confirmed I'm right via the power of the internets
As for broken PS3's I haven't turned mine on in awhile** and didn't plan on it so it's staying off until they get a patch out.
**I've only had time for portable games in between class mainly and most of my backlog is 360, FFXIII will probably be the first time I actually use my PS3 for games and that will probably be in May with a little bit in April. I've definitly need to play some of it in early May though so I can talk about it a bit/not get too many spoilers at the Final Fantasy panel that I'm assuming will be at Anime North again that I'll probably go to with some friends
