The three novels follow three characters during the two-year period between the original Final Fantasy VII game's ending and the beginning of the Advent Children movie: Tifa, Barret, and...Denzel. Don't remember Denzel? He's the young boy who appears in Advent Children as a victim of Geostigma. Adult!Denzel tells his story because he wants to enlist in the World Regeneration Organization, which is being run by former Shinra head Reeve (also known as Cait Sith).
This isn't Final Fantasy VII's first anime-- an OVA titled Last Order, which told the story of Zack's unfortunate demise and came out with the Advent Children Ultimate Edition. And It's no Final Fantasy VII game remake. But it's probably going to be pretty cool.
EDIT: My sincerest apologies, guys. I misread the Japanese article. Actually, I really think I hallucinated the word "TV" in there, by virtue of my desire to see such a thing. m(_ _)m Mooshiwake gozaimasen!

SOMEDAY we'll get our next-gen remake. It just might not be until the NEXT next-gen...
This is the reason why FF7 is so popular, even now. FF12 or even 10 or 11 couldn't hold a candle to FF7. I have great deal of respect to FF7 and for the creators of this game. Respect.
But I certainly didn't mean to trivialize the characters, which of course play an enormous role. One of my big problems with XII was that its characters (with the occasional exception of Balthier) were so thoroughly devoid of any kind of life or liveliness.
A 26-episode Turk-focused, Before Crisis TV series! *pumps fist*
Those animated commercials for the BC mobile game were the worst teases imaginable. Square needs to throw a middle finger to the economic downturn, cut a bigger check to Madhouse and go all in. :)
