As we already know, there is a special Unlimited Blade Works film in production that will be released sometime within January. To celebrate this release, a special edition of the Fate/Stay Night anime will released in Japan on both DVD and Blu-ray. This special release will have re-shot and re-edited content, among new opening animation. Also the opening song will be re-recorded, with a new arrangement and new vocals.

This new recompilation will be released on the 22nd of January, but it is still unknown at this time whether or not this will have a release on the other side of the pond. Good news for all of you Fate/ fans out there. Even though this is an obvious grab for more money, the series can use a little make over in my opinion. Yet I still wonder how extensive this makeover will be.

Personally, I never understood the popularity of this show.  I felt the pacing was rather slow. (didn't get too far though) Oh, and the MC is bloody obnoxious.

Been tempted to try out the visual novel though(mostly 'cause Saber is sexy), maybe that'll be better.

I love the show, but this isn't enough for me to spring for a blu ray player.

The pacing picks up, but yeah the main character is awful. He's actually more tolerable in the dub though

It's 2 60 minutes ova's so it will be a highly compressed series of the anime. The fate/stay night anime series has been released in Blu-ray over there for months, lol so I'm sure that is superior to this compressed 2 hour thing. I still plan to watch it regardless.

@Pyro: I'll just say the visual novel is the reason Void and I are F/SN fans. The anime is.... not bad, but not anywhere near as super amazing as the game.
