Fall Preview: Tatakau Shisho The Book of Bantorra

An early look at some of the hottest shows coming this fall!

In order to make sure I don't fall behind on the fall season's preview-- whose final version will be posted in early September --I thought I'd give you guys some early previews on some of the titles I think you'll want to keep an eye out for, and most of the info that will be in the preview (based on what's available at the time). These'll happen approximately "whenever I feel like it," probably a few times a week. So let's try the first, shall we?

"In a world where people die and become books..."

Such is the tagline of the series, which is based on a series of light novels by Ishio Yamagata. In this fantasy world, dead people turn into books held at a particular library-- Bantorra. Librarians there wield great power, and an amnesiac named Koria Tonisu wakes up one day with a bomb embedded in his chest to try to kill the most powerful of the librarians: Hamyuttsu Meseta. Instead, Koria falls in love with her, and finds himself in the middle of a war over the library.

The show is being animated by the young studio David Production, founded by former Gonzo president Kouji Kajita and producer Taito Okiura in '07; their only full production to date was this spring's Ristorante Paradiso.

@Black_Rose: Really? That's what piqued my interest.

Ok, while I <3 stuff with powerful librarians and there books have special powers ... the logistics of this are kinda breaking my brain.  Actually, you don't even want to know what questions my brain is asking.

I <3<3<3 ROD and Library Wars.  I'll watch this, but ...

Terrible trailor but the idea seems cool enough. I'd give it a watch...

Also, the woman in a white shirt srsly needs bra action.
