Only shows I been watching is Coppelion and Kill La Kill. Both rock in their own ways.

takashichea moderator is online on Nov. 5, 2013 at 8:02 p.m.

Good shows I'm watching are Nagi no Asukara, Kill la Kill, Valvrave 2, Gingitsune, Magi 2, and Kuroko's Basketball. My guilty pleasure shows are Diabolik Lovers and Wanna be the Strongest. Shows I'm watching to kill time are Strike the Blood, Walkure Romanze, Golden Time, and Meganebu.

Shows I put on hold: Arpeggio of the Blue Steel and Beyond the Boundary. (suffering from school)

  • Magi 2 is suffering from its ending in season 1. I guess I have a Shonen love. It remind of Fairy Tail. It was tasty at first, but as it goes on, the taste is stale.
  • Wanna be the Strongest - If you can stand Sakura moaning for the first 4 episodes, you could enjoy it. It has a serious story with fan service mainly crotch shots from Boston Crab position.
  • Walkure Romanze and Strike the Blood - boring as hell, but I would have dropped it. Walkure made me laugh more than Strike the Blood with its cheesy innuendos.
  • Diabolik Lovers - I wish I dropped. I don't know why I keep on watching. I blame my sis for making me watch it with her. We have a thing of watching every freaking reverse harem series since I asked her to recommend my series for my research: Reverse Harem based Otome Games: Their Anime/Manga Adaptations. So far, most reverse harem series that are based on Otome games suck.
  • Nagi no Asukara and Gingitsune are my favorite slice of shows. I'm not a big fan of slice of life, but these two show are pretty solid. It keeps me engaged. Nagi no Asukara interest me more than Gingitsune because involves race, forbidden love, love square, and more.
  • Valvrave was a surprise hit show with me. It never stopped surprising me. It was personally more entertaining that Majestic Prince.

I'll add more. The wiki calls me.

computerandy9on Nov. 5, 2013 at 9:50 p.m.

Kyoukai no Kanata - rocks

Golden Time - neutral (gets better with each episode)

Nagi no Asukura - rocks

Walkure Romanze - sucks (yet i'm still watching it...)

Little Busters! refrain! - rocks (way better then original but you kinda need the original for this to make sense i guess)

White Album 2 - rocks (massive surprise hit for me)

Log Horizon - sucks (sword art online but worse, although sao novels are pretty awesome)

Magi 2 - sucks (im only watching it because i still like the main trio)

outbreak company - sucks (first couple of episodes were pretty interesting, all downhill from there)

I sure hope it's only first 4 episodes, we still have more then half way to go and next episode is a battle with her main opponent. I have a feeling she will moan like never before. I hope I'm wrong though.

BTW, Magi is awesome. Second season is doing great so far.

White Album 2 is definitely on list to see if it's ANY LESS TERRIBLY DISAPPOINTING LIKE THE FIRST SHOW. Ahhh ... sorry, I got a little upset, White Album was all right.

As far as Wanna Be The Strongest in the World? Wow. That opening MOMENT. I'm at work, so .... guess I gotta wait to be home for that one :)

Samurai Flamenco is underrated...

sickVisionz moderator on Nov. 6, 2013 at 7:42 a.m.

The only current stuff I'm following week to week right now are

  • Monogatari
  • Hunter x Hunter
  • Naruto

Over the last year or so I found that I really prefer marathoning 6 or more episodes of a series at once to following it week-to-week. The only exceptions are shows that last longer that I marathoned the first cour (around 13 episodes) of and now don't want to wait until the next cour is done to continue watching.

Shows I plan on checking out once a cour is done are:

  • Samurai Flamenco I saw two episodes of this and enjoyed it enough to know I should stop and wait until I can marathon it.
  • Kyousougiga I saw part of a preview episode and it seems like Kill la Kill but enjoyable.
  • Ace of Diamond
  • White Album 2 Because I loved the first series and hope this one ends up enjoyable as well.
  • Galilei Donna I think A-1 is making this and they've yet to make something I disliked.
  • Kuroko's Basketball Same reason as White Album
  • Nagi no Asukara Same reason as Galilei but a different studio

The only show I checked out and dropped is Kill la Kill. I saw an episode and it seemed like Nichijou but worse. In Nichijou the animation was great but it was a comedy where like 90% of the jokes just weren't funny. I understood the setup and why they were supposed to be funny... but they weren't. In Kill, 100% of the comedy isn't funny to me and that's like the bulk of what's there. The rest is just cool fight scenes and animation which, just like Nichijou, I can catch from this YouTube dude that does monthly AMVs for cool looking scenes that aired that month.

I forgot to warn you but I did mentioned lots of intense moaning. :)

We have a discussion thread. I believe someone is watching it. Samurai Flamenco Discussion.

I still have for Magi. I do love the characters. It's just that the story drags a bit. I heard Magnostadt is the longest arc, and I thought Balbadd was bad enough.

Log Horizon is a different beast. It has better relationships and world building than Sword Art Online. I guess you prefer action over talking. Log Horizon does a lot of talking and explanations with its RPG element unlike SAO that dropped all game mechanics. SAO has more action but superficial relationships and shallow characters. That's my personal opinion.

Hunter x Hunter is my next Shonen show to try. After Fairy Tail, Magi and One Piece fill the void somewhat. Oh man, I forgot about Kuroko's Basketball. You're waiting for it end, so you can do a marathon of it, right? I know your viewing style by now.

Marshal Victoryon Nov. 6, 2013 at 3:28 p.m.

@takashichea: was gona post a list but its to long.ya got some of it jst post ones i have droped later.

@computerandy9: yeah log horizon is just like SAO just like SAO is just like .Hack.. which is their really not.Difrent stories an difrent mmorpg world builds.

Log Horizon focus more on a slower time progresion, biger explanations on mmorpg mechinics in their world. It feels more shonen like. Also has a larger pool for main characters .

SAO time jumps here an their so its not as chapter focused , does not explain the world as good. But does have a larger overall romantic story.Animation style an quality tho is better here than Log horizon.

.Hack early on doesnt explain " the world " well at all .Its game mechinics an rules other than real life an server log still struging to get htrew the 1st series.

A example i have used before is Star wars an Star Treck share many of the same story gene elements but are difrent stories. Its same for these 3 shows they share a" mmorpg traped in the world" gene but are very difrent story wise.

edit:about this anime vice.. lost or hid the video? an mostly disgreed with the picks. But last i heard opion does vary.

Only have droped 3 shows this season Diabolik Lovers,Nagi no Asukura, and Wanna be the Strongest. So still like 20 plus titles im watching. Samurai Flamenco is coming close to being droped to.

sickVisionz moderator on Nov. 6, 2013 at 3:54 p.m.

@takashichea: I'm trying to hold out for 13... or at least six episodes to stack up. I didn't end up checking out the first series until it was basically done and I watched like 24 episodes over two days. I just want to get it all out of my system at once. There's something enjoyable about watching a series week-to-week, but I like it more for casual stuff where I'm not going to be super amped and on the edge of my seat.

Marshal Victoryon Nov. 6, 2013 at 6:32 p.m.

@sickVisionz: Some anime just flow better like that to.Where as the pilot might not be that great it could hit its stride 3rd episode in.This season is full of anime that realy take off 3rd episode on.

Watamote, Kill La Kill, and Hunter X Hunter, love them all, and will keep on watching,

takashichea moderator is online on Nov. 8, 2013 at 3:08 a.m.

Watamote is from the summer season. It's a good show. I loved it, but I wished the ending was a bit better.

For me, I do marathons for slow paced shows. Fast paced and suspenseful shows are the ones I can do a weekly basis.

@Marshal Victory:

How come you dropped Nagi no Asukara? Just wanted to know.

Your list of watched titles beat mine. I would have dropped Diabolik Vampires. Though, I find myself watching it to find out if the girl escapes or killed her suitors for abusing her every damn episode. I don't know why I can't dropped it.

Marshal Victoryon Nov. 8, 2013 at 6:46 a.m.

@takashichea: i got to second episode of Nagi no Asukara an lost all intrest. Love hexcigons with a "enviromental" message kinda bother me.Especialy when the ones griping about polution have magic .Animation was good.Didnt care for any of the characters by the end of 2 .I might go back later pick it up from 3 just because this season realy has a 3rd epsiode kicker under current going on.It might be great for others but those two things ( characters i dont like at least an the magical evormental message) bug me enuff not to click the play button. At least for now.

Diabolik Lovers not only did not grab me at the pilot but i almost quit it during the pilot. No character on screen did i like in any way. Animation was ok to average. Its suposed to be aimed at girls.. not sure how that is.It had a whole hook to get you to worry about the main character an her well being.Actualy it worked the other way.Maybe cause i have seen enuff girls in abusive relationships in real life to not like the tone.

I mean some people like watching people feed snakes live rodents to.How long will it live in the cage etc. This show that vibe an has even less apeal, cause i just dont care for any of the characters.

Now again i will caution these are just my opion on what works for me.Not a general blanket this sucks an no one should find any enjoyment in these shows.By all means if you like it watch an enjoy what you like.

Kill La Kill is the only current anime I'm watching

zaldaron Nov. 11, 2013 at 9:53 p.m.

Kill la Kill and golden time are the only shows I am watching. Golden time is generic but it mixes the generic parts in an odd way and though it doesn't really focus on the law school stuff I am enjoying it. If I wasn't in law school I don't know. You should watch a little more past the first three. I am going back to watch the first season of infaninte stratos which is fun as well.

You should join us in the Golden Time Discussion!

Relates to time did post over on fandom post in theirs though. Will see if time allows but even watching it takes more time than I have at times.
