I’ll tell you, it was a unique feeling to walk out of EVA 2.0 with the knowledge that two more sequels were coming, for sure, but with no inkling of when. It’s tough to get that excited over a big “whenever” that could be mere months to whole years later. Well, we’ve got an inkling, now, thanks to Japanator.
EVANGELION 3.0: Q QUICKENING is due in Japan for - - hold your breath, now - - fall 2012. There’s no “inkling” of when it’ll be coming stateside, dubbed or subbed, but I’d assume it’d be a few months after that. You can enjoy this oh-so-brief teaser in the meantime, at least…
I don’t recall Asuka ever losing an eye or taking her EVA to outer space with a funky pack of wings in the original anime, so I’d say we’re clearly in that territory of major plot divergence that’s been promised this whole time. I’d be curious if that might be intentionally coinciding with the series' abandonment of the (Not) sub-titling scheme in favor of this odd Q QUICKENING business (seeing as how I doubt it means we’ve got a crossover with the Highlander brewing.)
We’re going to have more than a year to speculate upon the significance of that, won’t we?

Sucks that it will be over a year before we get to see it in the US (sucks even more for other countries, I'm sure). And I prob won't even see this until the BD release. Still, we finally have a step forward.
Shit got real

They always say that at the end of every Evangelion episode/movie.
Anyway, the release of these movies is too fucked up, while I didn't forget it was coming I certainly had lost any kind of excitement from this. Worse of all is that we're most likely going to get the last one in 2015.

Wikipedia says Evangelion FINAL is being released alongside Evangelion 3.0 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebuild_of_Evangelion#Titles). Dunno if the plan has changed or not, but keep your fingers crossed!
So Eva is slowly transforming into Gurren Lagann, which is quite ironic if you think about it.
Ironic.... and AWESOME
I'm pleased to hear this since there wasn't any news since 2.0 You Can (not) Advance. With a late 2012, I'm guessing it will take about a year until it shows up in the West . 2013 seems to far off (especially if the Mayans are right) but it'll get here eventually, I guess.

It's... not really "milking it", it's a continuation. The new movies are a retelling of the whole series, no one thought they would be done in two except you, apparently. Basically, you're talking out your ass.
Asuka had her eye covered at the end of End of Evangelion. Her left eye was covered to due her fight with the Mass-Produced Evas. In the movies, she suffered injuries in Unit 3. It was also shown at the finale of Evangelion 2.0.
@avidwriter:
Yes, they are serious. The Rebuild of Evangelion was designed to be a four part series from the very beginning.
@kylenalepa:
I heard about that the movies might be shown together, but I checked the Japanese wikipedia. It didn't mention any of that. Also, wikipedia isn't the most reliable source.
actually 1.0 is another movie
Original Eva is just well Original Eva
Keep those movies comin' :D
