Huh? What? I'm confused...
So, this confused the hell out of me at first. First off, a guy is pirating games on the 'net. Or at least one game, said to be an uncensored copy of Rapelay, also known as The Game that Launched a Thousand Censors. And the guy got arrested. With me so far? Good.
But he wasn't arrested for illegal filesharing, or any copyright violation. According to both Canned Dogs and Sankaku Complex, he was arrested for sharing obscene materials.
At first I was a bit confused: as far as I can tell, the EOCS-- which has banned a number of things from games, including rape –is NOT a government organization; it's voluntary but pretty much all games that want to be in stores go through it. Like the ESRB here, except our ESRB would probably never permit ANY adult games.
Anyway, THAT is when I noticed the part about it being an uncensored copy-- i.e. the mosaics that cover up all the naughty bits are removed.
So now my question is...anyone here score a copy?
But yeah, he was probably arrested solely because of it being uncensored, since anything pornographic has to have SOME sort of censorship. Rather silly if you ask me.
