Deal Watch: Right Stuf Bargain Bin Round-Up

Be warned, wallets are in danger.

Oh wallet, you must think I hate you. Taxes are barely gone, and now I seek to offer you up to the gods of good deals. That said, its all Right Stuf's fault. Their "blowout" sales, as the name indicates, is a blowout on a number of fun picks.

Unless otherwise stated, the below list are for single volume, DVD releases. While yes, you could save money if every volume was available, they often aren't. Such sales are the most useful when you're looking to fill in holes from preexisting collections, or just want to try out an introductory DVD to see what all the fuss is about.

Of course, you'll have to do shipping and handling, and even small prices (like 3.59) add up over larger numbers, so buy with caution. That said, there's a number of things I know I'll be buying. Ghost Stories, the wacky liberty taking dub from ADV, is definitely on that list. Also, I want to buy the La Blue Girl manga, just so I can do a serious review on that classic hentai...
 
Oh, and I already own this, but anyone who likes cool art boxes should check out the limited edition Beck, Vol. 1. For 7 dollars you can get volume one... and an artbox that looks like an amp! Granted, two years after buying it, I've yet to ever watch the DVD, but come on... it looks like a music amp!
 
Anyhoo, the sale is running through May 3rd, so feel free to check out the entire list for what sales I might have missed. As the list is several hundred deep, I'd recommend getting your reading glasses ready.

Right Stuf is the best website for legit deals on all sorts of anime/manga.  They have been around a long time and know their well... stuff.  Recently their sales have left me a little meh though, I am just not a big fan of the things they have on offer now though.  Though I did once get the entire season 1 and 2 collections of Ghost in the Shell SAC and the movie from them for barely over 100 bucks.

Onegai Twins has no redeeming virtues whatsoever... and I recommend it anyway --at this price. 
 
[and this reminds me:  I'm kind of miffed this outfit never made good on the "Onegai Friends" concept, whatever that would have been]

I just bought a Last Exile box set off this sale. If I can scrounge up enough cash, maybe I'll spring for the Speed Grapher box set as well.
 
PS, I saw that a picture on one of the Last Exile boxes had an "As Seen On TechTV" sticker slapped on the box. Ah, memories.

Ordered the L.E. Beck v1 simply for the amp.

I haven't even watched Beck and I want the Limited Edition for the amp. Right Stuf is a great site and I just looked through my Spring 2010 Catalog. There is a lot that I want, but alas, I get to live the next 2 weeks on $5 and save money so I can start paying off loans and afford moving after graduation. I am confident even with these tough financial times of mine that a couple hundred dollars of anime will find its way into my collection by the end of the year. You are welcome anime companies since I only get my anime by buying boxsets. *glares at Bang Zoom!*

Yeah, RightStuf is great. And free shipping at $49 is greatly appreciated. But I think you're missing a great series from that list, and that's Tenchi Universe. They've got tons of all 8 volumes in stock and $2.69 each. And while I know not everyone likes the show, ADV's version of Air TV is also included in the sale (art box, too).

You'd think that'd be some sort of uncreative gold mine.

Oh man. I blogged about my purchase... literally 48 dollars. I was less than a dollar away from free shipping! So disappointed.
 
And I guess I'm one of those freaks, but Tenchi Universe didn't rank super high on my list.
