Word from Crunchyroll is that they're going to start running Kemono no Souja Erin-- or Beast Player Erin --this very day. The first four episodes will come available today at 5pm PST.

But wait, there's more! Starting on Sunday at 3am (PST), they're going to begin simulcasting from episode 34, with plans to start streaming episodes 5 to the present episodes in the weeks that follow.

The series is an "epic" fantasy anime based on Nahoko Uehashi's novel and revolves around a young woman with the ability to control mystical beasts called ohju, which results in her getting tangled up in a power struggle for the kingdom in which she lives.

So, who's gonna check it out?

YAY!  This is one of my favorite series right now.  Don't expect anything fast-paced though.  It's kind of slice of life about a girl growing up.  So while exciting things do take place in her life and she has some major ups and downs, there are a lot of slow interludes about her just living and growing.  I love stuff like that though.

Dig Deeper into Crunchyroll

Originally created as something of a specialty YouTube for anime and other Japanese media and consisting primarily of illicit fansubs, in 2008 CrunchyRoll established deals to legally distribute some popular anime series simultaneous to their Japanese airing.
