Confirmed: Haruhi's School is Real, so Stop Trespassing

Obey!

For one school in Japan, keeping kids in classes isn't hard as keeping them out. Hyogo Prefectural Nishinomiya North may not seem too noteworthy, but it's apparently the model for the high school in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. An anime mecca of sorts, otaku have taken their pilgrimage to the next level, and have been repeatedly found trespassing inside school premises. The issue has become so serious that the school has issued statements on their about how they intend to get serious with said offenders.

The school offers, as an alternative, that such fanatics should just obsessively watch the music video for Yasahii Bokyaku (by Minori Chihara.) The theme song for the Haruhi movie was apparently shot at the school itself. Of course, I think I'll just sate myself on these comparison shots, and just skip the in person tour.

Then again, if the series creator Nagaru Tanigawa did base it off this school, maybe there's something we're missing. Maybe they really do have awesome rock concerts, and just don't tell people.

I think they will need spartans in order to keep the otakus outside the school.

Tours on off-days for revenue? Might stave off otaku popping in unexpectedly on inconvenient days too.

Hopefully the trespassers aren't pedophiles.

Wow I am sort of surprised by this.  I thought the design and look on the school in the show was rather neat which by definition means it can't be real because most schools are about as well designed and architecturally stimulating as a piece of cow poo.

Ooh, but now that they told me not to, I just want to trespass even more!

@AHR: Man, do you think we could get the budget to do an otaku tour of Japan? We could hit up some studios, we could go to a bunch of landmarks, we could tour through the Haruhi school, the K-On! school, the Lucky Star shrine...

...

Okay, I guess we'd have to bring a really big telephoto lens and shoot the Haruhi school from afar, but we could make it work!
