Community Spotlight: 1/27/12

In a world ruled by by the anime wiki editors. It's good to be the king.

As the week closes once more, so we come to the Anime Vice Community Spotlight. I had a thin submission list for the wiki pages for this spotlight, but that doesn't say anything about the quality of what was added to the pages. Last week, we had the joint Anime Vice / Screened Screening Room for Evangelion 1.11. It was nice to rewatch that movie with others, and I shared trivia about the movie in the chat. I hope we can schedule another one soon.

Our news page has had more reviews for the new series for the winter season, and Nick and I covered last week's episode of Persona 4 in our Amateur vs. Expert article. Now, let's see what others have been up to on the site.

Wonderful Wikis

I would like to give a bit of recognition to a user who's been rather busy lately filling out the wiki on a little known series called Glass Mask. User Cathryn has been busy filling out the 2005 version of the anime series in detail. Always love seeing that.

Remember, if you would like to submit something for the Spotlight. You can send me a PM, but please be sure to add "Spotlight" to the subject line. I can't stress how important that is because it might just be lost in my Inbox when I clear it. Even if you have worked on something yourself and are really proud of your work. Get to work, and make more content for the next Spotlight!! Jana!!

...I feel like a certain something failed to get a mention in this...

It's always great to see the Anime Vice/Screened screening rooms happen. The Summer Wars one was good fun.

Awesome Wiki entries guys. Our wiki is definitively shaping up to be the best online!

One thing I would like to spotlight is this: Moderators' Weekly Anime Vice Articles. Us Mods who write out the Winter Watch and Weekly Anime (and Weekly Ponies) need your feedback.

Why is that picture so awesome?!

Cheers to everyone who had their work in the Wiki or their blogs featured in this week's AV Community Spotlight!

I'm still trying to figure out how that My Little Pony is anime, and I do need to change that Anime Vice tweeter feed part. I forgot that.
Any news related page stuff I write about in the  first section. The bulk of this is dedicated to the wiki and blogs.

Congrats everyone! Keep up the good work. Kudos to Cathryn for her wiki work!

@FoxxFireArt: It's obviously not anime, but it's become popular with a similar crowd, so it made sense to try covering it here. I was hoping the other moderators would be supportive of the idea, most have. Either way, the first article did well, so I'm rolling with it.

If it's not anime, why is it in the Anime Vice database and not on Screened? I also feel the same way about Ben 10 info.

Daniel_Newton moderator on Jan. 29, 2012 at 9:13 p.m.

@FoxxFireArt: Because if we're covering it for the site it may as well be in the database, and it increases site activity. We have a bunch of cartoons in the database already (like Ben 10 an so on) they're cartoons that appeal to lots of the same people who watch anime, so we include them here.

It was something we allowed right back when the site launched, any "anime-like" cartoons, or shows popular with the same sort of crowd were allowed here.
