I don’t know about you, but I get excited every time a major news outlet like CNN reports on something otaku related. This time
CNN reports on the happy marriage between Nene Anegasaki and her human husband Sal 9000. For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, or that might have just been released out of prison, Sal 9000, a 27-year-old man of Tokyo decided to one day marry a character from the Love Plus Nintendo DS game. They undertook their oaths in Guam, where I guess it is legal to marry anything.
What I like about this report is that it isn’t condescending, or too serious. Almost as if the reporter was happy for Sal, maybe she understood that she to can fall in love with a video game character as well (I can tell she is a Squall kinda gal.) Though I still believe Sal is doing this for all the attention he is getting, I’m not sure if he is doing this because he really loves her. Either way, he might be loyal to Nene, but Nene is not faithful to him; isn’t that right Nene-chan?
This is still HILariOUS to me, but he doesn't seem as creepy as I first thought, so I don't really care whether he does it for attention or not.
And well, I can relate to the difficulties dealing with other people.
That is also a Nintendo DS Mario Kart Limited Edition he is carrying his wife around on.
