For the record - - keeping up with any sort of business while attending two major conventions in the space of two weeks is tough. As in, it’s sort of like trying to juggle tea cups whilst doing a shuffle step. If you’ve been enjoying the content on the AV feed during all this time, please know that it’s the product of some very harried crunch hours.
As hard as it is to keep producing content in the middle of such madness, it’s damn near impossible to perform administrational duties (such as writing community updates like this) in the thick of it. However, now that I’ve finally got a minute or two, it’s time to share some major Anime Vice updates with you lunatics. I was thinking of doing a write-up of Comic Con, but there’s not much to say that wasn’t already covered on the Vice Pit, so this was more pertinent.
As you've noticed, things have been in flux here for the past few months and I wasn't able to make any official announcements until things had settled. Well, things have settled for the time being and, after all this time, you lunatics deserve to be in the know.
Since Anime Expo, I’ve officially stepped up in my duties here on the site. I suppose my title for the time being is Editor-in-Chief. Most of the content here is still going to be produced by me, though, and that isn’t all too different from how the situation’s been on the site, anyway. Thus, it seems like a different title would be more appropriate...
We’ll go with Shogun. I’m the Shogun of Anime Vice, and I’ll conduct business exactly like this shogun.
So what is different, then? Well, I’ll now have more time, ability and license to make the site as fun for everybody as it can be. Following that, you can be expecting a lot more videos. Ridiculous ones. I’ll be luring you all down into the Vice Pit much more often for some chewing of the fat with myself, Sam Weller and whatever hapless bystanders I can lasso in. We might be doing other types of videos as well - - I’m especially eager to kung fu fight on camera again. I’ll also be pulling in more interviews with fascinating subjects in the otaku sphere like Richie Branson and AX Staffers like Marlan Moore.
Unfortunately, GodLen won’t be able to stick around, so I’ll be the sole staff member for the time being. However, if you’ve noticed the handful of AV_MOD_MATERIAL posts from last week, you’ll see that I’m now able to push and promote material produced by the mods of our community. You can expect more of that.
I’m also talking to Babylonian about doing some features as well, so there’s going to be plenty of content coming at you. Indeed, this Shogun's still juggling those teacups in mid-shuffle, so I can’t say too much about the new features lurking around the corner except to assert that they'll all be rad.
Thanks for sticking with Anime Vice through thick and thin, you lunatics. Brace yourself for oodles of more fun from the craziest, wackiest and, at times, mot enlightening anime site around!

You're the only reason I come here Tom, so this sounds pretty good.
No worries, I plan on continuing to visit the site.
I welcome the new Shogun of Anime Vice.
Great to see this stuff out in the open for everyone, hopefully it will go some way to put people at ease. In short: Tom has more freedom with the content he writes and records for the site, and that's awesome.
It's also cool to hear you're talking to Babylonian/Nick. His content was always great.
Yeeeeeees.
Sho nuff. You've got the ambition and the vision to make things happen.
Awesome
welcome, Shogun Tom.
I'd also like to suggest that we could probably get some more mods out of the active community, mainly for wiki cleanup and moderation. since the forums relating to editing and requests are practically inactive, getting some newer blood added to the force should get some life back into these areas. the wiki is going strong, and a little more power to the writers would be great.
This is awesome! Thanks for being there along with us, Shogun Tom. It was a rough ride, but we're still rolling with a good amount of gas and it looks like we finally found the rest stop gas station that we needed to keep the car running. (and by "Car" i meant "Site").
The road doesn't stop here for us folks. We'll keep driving!
@Halberdierv2: Sorry about that, didn't realize it had been so long since one of us had checked that stuff. I've gone over all the requests in the name/alias change thread so it should be up to date now, let me know if I missed anything.
Great! and by the way, I also think we need more mods and someone to fix the default image bug in the anime series pages once and for all.
It's great to hear this!

The wiki queue is nearly always empty and the forums are under control. Considering he current size of the community, we have more than enough moderators. If you have any issues that need resolving right away just PM us.
Bugs on the other hand I can't do much about! I contacted the site engineers a little while ago and they're pretty busy with other things. All I can suggest is that we continue to use the site and let it grow and become bigger and bigger. The more active the site is the more reason the engineers have to come and fix the bugs.
@Daniel_Newton: it's not a problem. I think we could look about asking the more active members if they want a shot at moderating. I'd be happy to give it a try myself.
Very interesting...
"Shogun Tom"... I like the sound of it!
so is it safe to say that the site is stable? or are there gonna be more news regarding will come?
Welcome to the new Shogun! Sorry to see God_Len go and I hope it was as amicable as these things can be. I enjoyed reading his manga coverage and hope someone will continue it...and I think I may have missed the last dragon though I vaguely remember it isn't a cultural touch stone...I do have to say though the theme song is really really simple...it is rather catchy..."you are the last dragon you posses the power of the glow!"
