Forget the British, we should be thankful Shinji repelled the Angels. What's the significance of one country's independence, when Shinji defended all of humanity from extinction. His perfect blend of awkward hormones and daddy issues made him an amazing pilot. Sure, some would argue that the "Angels" were here first, or that "they" were attempting to save Earth... but those people are pinko commies if you ask me.

That said, now time for us all to feel sad about the whole "1.01 being released in the fall" and "1.11 being released next spring" thing. While I'm all for stop gap solutions, I don't understand why we are even getting 1.01 in the first place. If the differences are all remastering, then we can assume that 1.11 is, in fact, superior. We're just being told to buy an inferior, DVD only release this fall, so that we can buy a updated version on Blu-Ray later.
