Celebrate Halloween with Anime Jack-o-Lanterns

Just don’t smash them.

Tonight is the night when the vail between the living and the dead is it’s weakest. Dome say the souls of dead anime characters will enter our world and eat our cake. The only way to trap these souls is by carving a jack-o-lantern, of that particular anime character and feeding that character pocky through its little mouth slit; or so the legend says. This may be true, and it may not be true, but in reality many people carve anime things into pumpkins because they are afraid of these spirits.

However, seeing one of these pumpkins in the wild is few and far between, so I decided to go on the search for these vegetables of fandom for you. I do not know every single person who made these pumpkins, but I do know each one is talented and is best friends with the Great Pumpkin. Enjoy!

Those are really cool. The Gaara one is superb. That Simon with a drill is killer.

I did a Luffy pumpkin this year. By the time I settled on a design, it was too late to try what I really wanted. I thought of putting a straw hat on him, but I didn't know where I could find one similar to his on such short notice.

What I would love to try, is to get nine pumpkins and do the whole crew, or just do a select few. Put the straw hat on Luffy's, a tangerine with Nami's, and three pumpkin carving knives on Zoro's

I need to find out how to do these night shots without the flash on my camera going off.

@Acer: Indeed it is. I like the Alucard lantern myself (the one with all the eyes). The Simon with the drill one is great too - they really captured* the image out of the ending credits. I thought about a Gurren Lantern, but then I looked at all the studying I had to do, so I decided against it.

*No pun intended, as I suspect that they may have used a screen capture as a template - not that there's anything wrong with that).
