Bye Bye Maid Cafes, I Want a Bunny Cafe!

Awwwwwwww!

I don't know how I managed to miss this when it was first posted back in August, but if I did I figure a few of you did too, so without further ado-- the latest trend in cafes in Japan has nothing to do with maids. It's all about pets! But they're not just cat cafes (the most common type) or even dog cafes (surely second-most common)...no, this is a bunny cafe.

...No, no...not THAT kind of bunny. THIS kind of bunny!

This is my second d'awwwwwww of the day. D'awwwwww!

I used to go to a few cat cafes in the Kitakyushu and Fukuoka areas that are the previous iteration of this concept. They're surprisingly fun and addictive. This also reminds me of the Dragon Quest-themed cafe that's operating in Roppongi.
I'm not sure I can get used to tastefully dressed hostesses at a theme cafe

Jeez Gia, I was joking before but now I'm seriously beginning to think you're going to give me diabetes! They're so cuuuute!

I was expecting the English VA's to be patronisingly Japanese but they weren't, British society isn't dead yet!

awwww... I was hoping for the other kind of bunny.
Also my experience with bunny's is that they are mean and bite... bite really HARD.

I would go to either bunny cafe. Bunnies are awesome.
Agent_Loston Feb. 10, 2010 at 5:06 p.m.
I wanted the other bunny. Guess I go pet the little bunny to cheer me up.

I've heard about Cat cafes, and now the rabbit cafe, but where are the cafes with big dogs? Who doesn't love a big dog? Really!
Konandaon Feb. 10, 2010 at 6:37 p.m.

The twist the meat in that curry is wild rabbit. :O

Actually I'm guessing it's not. Anyway cool concept.

I wish stuff like this existed in Australia... But at the same time I totally understand why we cannot ever have one of these in Australia.
Boddingtonon Feb. 10, 2010 at 10:17 p.m.
@TubeOxen: Don't fret, they have that too. I've been to one on the Kuju Kogen (Kuju Highlands) of Oita Prefecture, Kyushu. Can't remember the name of the place for the life of me, but it was essentially just a cafe with an open deck backed by a giant pasture where the dogs roam free.

Decent cheesecake too.

All that did for me was remind my of my (I admit unfair) hatred of certain british dialects.
Lunarmothon Feb. 11, 2010 at 11:40 a.m.
aw... you got my hopes up only to shoot them down. Any how if anyone who ever had a rabbit they tell you that they are pain in the ass. But I guess it wasn't too bad.

You sold me a bill of goods! One that was delivered by a different, but also appealing product!

@RockmanBionics:
That blows, seeing how I love that accent.
