I know a lot of you have been clamoring for a US theatrical release date for the live-action adaptation of Production I.G's Blood: The Last Vampire, and Anime Nation reports that the film will open in at least nine theaters (hopefully more!) on July 10th, 2009. The theaters are in Berkeley, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Chicago, Cambridge, Dallas, Seattle, and D.C.

If that list doesn't include a theater you can get to, don't fret too much-- it's not uncommon for films to get a limited release shortly (~1 week) prior to a wider release. I'll be keeping tabs on Samuel Goldwyn Films' page with theaters and dates and I'll let you know as soon as I know if they add more theaters.

In the meantime, I'm planning on trudging what will surely be my exhausted-from-Anime-Expo, packing-for-Otakon-and-SDCC ass up to Seattle to catch a showing, unless of course they add a closer theater for me. And of course I'll review it for you guys. So stay tuned!

*Wonders about a Canada release date* Yes, sadly I'm not from the States.

I'm a little surprised the Landmark here in NYC isn't getting it in its first week. That's interesting.
