BLEACH Ch. 567 Review -- AV MOD MATERIAL

Who is this irresistible creature who has an insatiable love for the cold? Living Dead Girl!

Where has this Rukia been all series?!
Where has this Rukia been all series?!

All living creatures have a fear of death, but what if your enemy lacked all life? That chill down Äs Nödt's spine isn't fear. It's Rukia Kuchiki's Sode no Shirayuki.

The Good

She gave him the cold shoulder. Ha!
She gave him the cold shoulder. Ha!

In one of the captions of last week's review. I made the joke that Rukia's blood must have been replaced with ice water. So, imagine my shock to discover I was technically right. Rukia just blows me away with how awesome she is in this chapter. This new ability she has is just terrifying. She could slice up an enemy and freeze the blood so fast that they'd never bleed. At those temperatures, I doubt you'd even feel the cut.

For as much as characters standing around explaining their powers tends to irritate me, I didn't mind it so much here. At least, as far as Rukia is concerned. Maybe that's because she was pulling the moves off as she's attacking, and this gave him no time to react. Mark this as yet another chapter that I'd be very disappointed if it never gets animated.

The Bad

As is all talk. Rukia is all show.
As is all talk. Rukia is all show.

The biggest disappointment I have out of this chapter is that I'm a bit concerned that this fight may be over already. Not that I really mind that too much. I was just hoping for a surprise bankai, but not every character can be pulling that off at this point. There's also a chance that old Äs Nödt isn't a complete Fear-cicle.

Verdict 5/5

I never would have imagined that in this weather I'd find something this cold so appealing. So much of this issue was action based. It makes it a bit hard to review without it turning into a summary. Safe to say, this is an excellent chapter of shonen-badassery. It would be kind of a shame if this isn't expanded upon, but I did ask for a solid victory for Rukia. I can hardly complain.

Rukia's power is definitely one of the cooler ones shown in a while. It does't seem like she has any projectile power though, probably later on.

I'm confused about the last panel. I guess she cut through him, but it doesn't appear that she did anything but tough him. I am disappointed by how one sided the battle was. As must have been standing still for most of the fight. Perhaps Kubo is ready to move on.

Rukia is so awesome, she way more powerful then Hitsugaya. Can't wait to see more fights with her
