Originally created as something of a specialty YouTube for anime and other Japanese media and consisting primarily of illicit fansubs, in 2008 CrunchyRoll established deals to legally distribute some popular anime series simultaneous to their Japanese airing. In 2009 they will remove all fan-submitted content.

I am actually a member of Crunchyroll and actually like the service, I used to get animes like everyone else before I moved into a college dorm you learn to enjoy what internet you have and streaming hulu and CR keep me sane and happy especially when your Laptop is your tv/dvd player.
CR is cool because I can watch my weekly animes and alot of older stuff at 720p and I paid for the full yr of dramas and anime for 50 bucks on top of the 3 months I bought last month.
