Bee TV: Tegami Bachi Episode 1

For those who aren't into Saki...

I've been really enjoying our daily Saki feature-- though it may be a bit of a blitz for some of you, don't worry, it'll be over a couple of weeks --but let's face it, the show's not for everyone. In the interests of making the best use of our partnership with Crunchyroll, I thought I'd add another show onto our docket. And a newer one at that: Tegami Bachi, or Letter Bee.

I'll be watching this along with you guys, but I have already seen it up to the current episode-- and it's absolutely one of my favorite shows this season, hands down. So since it's accessible to us, I thought I'd share it with everyone! Here's how it's going to work: today, tomorrow, and Friday we'll show episodes 1, 2, and 3. Episode 4 will come available to the general public on Saturday and we'll post it that day, and from then on it will be a weekly feature, with new episodes showing right here for your convenience every Saturday.

Sound good? Good! Here's the first episode.

(And don't worry, Chi's Sweet Home fans-- Your Sunday Chi will return this weekend!)

@AjayRaz: Hope you enjoy it!

I really love Jun Fukuyama as Gauche, particularly in this episode-- he's able to switch back and forth between a mildly silly character and a very serious one, without going way over the top. It suits the mood of the show, I think.

Honestly, I wasn't terribly impressed so far. Like, I've heard people talking about this as the underdog, most original series, etc. etc. this season, but the first episode by far did not sell me. However, I did enjoy it enough that I want to check out episode two tomorrow.

@John_Martone: I don't know if I'd call it either an "underdog" or "most original" (I'm pretty sure I've only said "favorite").

it wasn't bad, interesting to say the least. i'm looking forward to the next episode. Aria has interested me, hopefully we'll learn more about her.

Yay a new show!  Is there gonna be some manliness in this one? :{P Gonna watch.....
giaon Oct. 28, 2009 at 9:58 p.m.
@ethan: Hmm, as manly as a young boy voiced by a girl can get, I suppose! (Bear in mind that the same is true of Naruto =P) I don't know that it'll ever be as testosterone-driven as Bleach/Naruto/Dragon Ball/etc, but there'll definitely be a lot more action than in Saki! ^_^

Hmm, seems alright. I like the uniforms and the scarves. THE SCARVES!

I already watch all 4 episodes, right now this is my favorite anime of this Fall.
