Beckii Cruel, oh how I wish I were her, for she is the Cinderella story of the otaku world. This 14-year-old girl from England has won over the hearts of moe-loving otaku in Japan by posting videos of herself dancing to anime and Jpop songs on youtube. Yesterday she had the opportunity to dance in front of over 600 fans at the Enta Matsuri in Akihabara; amazing, and it all started with a youtube video. Now she has a DVD coming out in Japan (which you can pre-order now) that features her dancing her dance, and being overall moe. Here, take a look at a preview video of this DVD now, and go on ahead a pre-order 10 copies for you and your friends. Do you think that if I start dancing on youtube, Japan will make a DVD of me as well?

Japan is wierd, and we are slowly but surely becoming part of that wierdness. I hope her parents were on set 0_o

This is like a more oddball expansion of the Catherine St.Onge/Himeka thing

Well, she aint no chav, and she aint no hick. A straight A student, articulate and intelligent. I should know - I am her dad. Parents fully aware of the whole set up, and with any facet of the performing arts, there is an element of wierdness/wierdos - look at the hack on her youtube site. (thanks for sorting YT!)

If we allowed the wierdos to get in the way, we'd never get anything done.
