It’s any Otaku’s dream to be able to take a picture on the shoulder of a life-sized
Gundam, and Japan is now making that dream a reality. They are
auctioning off the opportunity for one lucky person to have a photograph taken at the statue’s shoulder. Like any other auction, the way to win is to have the highest bid, which is already at 801,000 yen. Don’t worry, the money will be going to charity, and not some super secret fund that is used for the construction of a real-life Gundam.
This photo will be taken during the Tokyo Olympic bid ceremony, where they will be adding the Tokyo 2016 Candidate City logo onto the Gundam itself (boo, It’s not a billboard!) This is all really just a tease, for I’m sure they won’t except our dirty American money. Give us a chance too Japan! We love Gundam just as much as you!

... You say that like it's a GOOD thing!!!
Of course it's not. The real-life Gundam is already there, duh.
Uhhhh... a machine with no mouth eating people?
And secondly, who's to say I'm not the one the funds are going towards to build said death machine?
